Modi releases Jayvantiben’s autobiography book in Mumbai
Mumbai, 19 October, 2010
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today released senior BJP leader Jayvantiben Mehta’s autobiography book ‘Ek Aviram yatra’ in Mumbai.
Jayvantiben’s autobiography book has been translated into Gujarati and Marathi.
Speaking at this occassion, Modi criticised the recent rally organised by Congress at Sevagram for alleged corruption and said: “It is unfortunate that the rally in Sevagram, which is known for Mahatma Gandhi, was shrouded with corruption.”
He was referring to a controversy which arose when news channels aired a footage showing MPCC chief Manikrao Thakre discussing with former minister Satish Chaturvedi about fund collection from Congress Ministers, including Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, for the rally.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi was the chief guest of the rally.
BJP national president Nitin Gadkari, who was also present in the function, congratulated Modi for steering the party to victory in the recently held municipal corporation polls in Gujarat.
“CBI and Governors are alliance partners of the UPA government. Despite misuse of CBI by the government, Modi got success in the local body polls and I congratulate him for that,” Gadkari said.
