Modi to kick start Pashu Arogya Mela Abhiyan 2010 from Petlad

Animal Husbandry plays a vital role in Rural Economy. Thrust is to provide veterinary services to livestock owners that include surgery, de-warming, vaccination, general health check-up of the cattle, and artificial insemination services. Services of experts are made available through cattle-camps. State is all set to organise as many as 2700 cattle camps in the State.

Chief Minister will kick start state wide Pashu Arogya Mela Abhiyan from Petlad on 21st Nov. Anand administration, under the leadership of Collector Smt. Avantika Singh is making relentless efforts to make the event a grand success. Anand is to host 110 such camps in district.

Shri Narendra Modi has led livestock sector towards a positive change, progress and prosperity. Under his dynamic leadership Gujarat is on a decade-long economic up-swing. Agriculture and livestock has remained a key engine for the economic growth. To keep up with the increasing demand of milk and its product, we have to ensure the rise in milk production through breed up-gradation and by application of various scientific inputs.

The audacity with which Shri Modiji is implementing the programme deserves credit. Animal Husbandry department is all set to host exhibitions with an aim to arm the livestock owners with modern scientific techniques, informing them about different breeds and advantages of breed- up gradation programme, through which they can maintain the growth in milk production.

Experience has shown that when you empower the community they start contributing to the progress of nation. State has taken various measures- farmer friendly measures- which are aimed to foster sustainable production. Scientists have been encouraged to develop technologies that are farmer friendly and economical.

When the Sun lit the skyline of India on 15th Aug 1947, our founding fathers had dreamt Gram-Swaraj through rural development-rural prosperity. The dream comes true through the steps taken to empower farmers and livestock owners, by hosting a chain of Krushi Mahotsav and Pashu Arogya Melas across the State. Farmers and livestock owners have already reaped economic advantages. The state wide Abhiyan of organising 2700 Pashu Arogya Mela during Gujarat’s Golden Jubilee Year is to leave an indelible mark.
