Dharampur to go on one-day strike demanding arrest of Congress MP
Surat, 16 September, 2010

South Gujarat’s Dharampur town will observe one-day strike on 27 November protesting police inaction.
Bharatiya Janata Party worker Shankarbhai was attacked by Valsad Congress Member of Parliament Kishan Patel and his supporters about 15 days back. Shankarbhai was eventually admitted in Surat’s Civil hospital for treatment of serious injury in his ear caused after MP Kishan Patel allegedly slapped him.
Shankarbhai had filed police complaint against MP Kishan Patel and others in this regard. Police has arrested 9 Congress workers so far, but Kishan Patel is still at large, and has not been arrested.
Protesting this, the local BJP unit has declared one-day strike in Dharampur on 27 November.
