BSE office sealed, Diamond workers block road opposing sealing drive

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) teams today sealed 199 shops/offices worth 22565 sq.m in its ongoing sealing drive. Today’s sealing process also covered sealing of Bombay Stock Exchange’s branch office in Ahmedabad. Remember, BSE branch office is not stock exchange, and share and stock activity was not affected due to sealing of BSE branch office.

Meanwhile in Thakkarbapanagar, hundreds of diamond industry workers protested AMC’s sealing drive arguing that the sealing of buildings that house diamond industry is adversely affecting their employment. The diamond industry workers staged dharna on road and tried to disturb the traffic. Police was called in, after which the issue was settled.

Following is a list of buildings that were sealed/demolished on Wednesday in Ahmedabad.

-Corporate house, Dinesh hall street, Ashram road – 52 units sealed

worth 3450 sq.m area for lacking of fire safety system and NOC

-Krushnalila shopping centre, Aslali highway, Lambha turning – 26

units sealed worth 470 sq.m for unauthorized construction

-Pushpakun building, Thakkarbapanagar char rasta – 46 units worth

12000 sq.m for same reason described above.

-Shriji building and Shuti building, Thakkarbapanagar – 26 units

worth 4000 sq.m for same reason described above.

-Sarvayog dham, Thakkarbapanagar char rasta – 5 units worth 900

sq.m for same reason described above.

-Rose tower, Shahpur mill compound, Shahpur – 12 units worth

135 sq.m for unauthorized construction in ground floor parking area.

Burkhani mosque area, Sarkivad, Shahpur – 20 units worth 825 sq.m sealed for unauthorized flat construction

Saad apartment, Kumbharvado, Shahpur – 12 units worth 785 sq.m for same reason described above.

The AMC team demolished construction in basement parking space of Pushpam complex, Anandnagar in Prahladnagar area. The construction was about 20 sq.m
