Gujarati sign board compulsory for new building permission
Gandhinagar, 7 December, 2010

In a major decision during golden jubilee year of Gujarat, the state government has instructed state’s all collectors and civic bodies to give permission to new residential, industrial or commercial unit only after ensuring that Gujarati sign board is there.
Urban development minister Nitin Patel said that his department has sent letters in this regard to all Collectors and Municipal Corporations in the state.
If someone wants to put English sign board, it is allowed, but Gujarati sign board must be there and it should be bigger than the English sign board according to new rule.
The decision has been made in view of growing trend of putting English sign boards.
