Ahmedabad, 17 December, 2010

India’s Gajhal king Shri Jagjit Singh on Thursday said Gujarat was a “disciplined” state under the Narendra Modi government.
While addressing a press conference at Ahmedabad’s Rajpath Club on Friday for announcement of first-of-its-kind event where he would be performing ‘Ghazal Symphony’ along with 30 other artistes in the city, Padma Bhushan awardee Singh told reporters, “Why Ahmedabad has been chosen for this unique event is because I feel that people here appreciate good music, and it is safe here.”
“Gujarat is a disciplined state under the Modi government,” he added.
Singh said that the Ghazal Symphony was his first attempt at handling 30 artistes in his singing career spanning 45 years. Singh said for Friday’s event, he would be singing ghazalas in Urdu, Hindi and one in Gujarati.
