Kids City to be opened today,Congress against high entry fees

Opposition Congress party has opposed ruling BJP’s decision to implement Rs. 100 entry fee for children and Rs. 150 entry fee for parents in shortly to be opened Kids City at Kankaria lake front. The Kids City is scheduled to be opened today by the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

According to a decision taken in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s standing committee, the Kids City will accommodate six to seven batches of 150-170 children in each batch in a day between 10.00 am and 10.00 pm. Each batch will be allowed to enjoy Kids city for one and half hour. Each child will be allowed to do four activities. While two activities will be available for free of cost, other two will be available on paid model.

Opposition Congress party has criticized what they call a high and unaffordable rate of entry fee which according to them would not allow poor and middle class children to enter and enjoy Kids city. Congress party has decided to boycott 31st December concluding ceremony of Kankaria Carnival and inauguration of Kids City.
