Dinsha, Bharat Solanki, Tushar, Praful get new portfolio
New Delhi/Ahmedabad, 19 January, 2011

So after today’s reshuffling Praful Patel is no more a Civil Aviation minister of the country. He has been elevated with Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises portfolio in cabinet rank. Earlier he was just a minister of state.

Gujarat Kheda district MP Dinsha Patel has been allotted independent charge of Mining ministry as minister of state. This is bit better portfolio compare to previous one. Then Patel is only one minister in central government with the status of minister of state(independent charge). You should know that there’s no cabinet minister of mining over Dinsha. This means he is India’s mining minister. Now this is very lucrative department.

Shri Bharatsinh Solanki, Member of parliament from Gujarat’s Anand constituency has been shifted to Railway ministry in capacity of minister of state. Solanki was earlier minister of state for power. In UPA-1 also, the minister of state for Railway was from Gujarat. He was Chhota Udepur MP Naranbhai Rathwa who lost election in 2009.

South Gujarat’s MP Tusharbhai Chaudhary who was earlier minister of state for Tribal affairs, has now been allotted Roads, Transport and Highways department in same capacity. Chaudhary can serve Gujarat in many ways through this portfolio. Interestingly another minister of state Jitin Prasad has been allotted same departments as Chaudhary. So we have two ministers of state for Roads, Transport and Highway.
