BJP MLA wants Modi to travel between Mithapur and Dwarka by road
Jamnagar, 24 January, 2011

This is interesting.
The MLA of Gujarat’s Dwarka has written a letter to Chief Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to travel between Mithapur and Dwarka by road to experience the worst condition of the road which is not being repaired even after repeated representation and requests.
Dwarka MLA Pabubha Manek has strong local influence and he was continuously elected as MLA from Dwarka even when he was not in BJP. This local power keeps him free from any fear(similar to Madhu Srivastav of Vaghodia).
As the Chief Minister is scheduled to arrive at Dwarka this week to perform ground breaking of proposed Sudama Setu between Dwarka’s Gomti ghat and Panchkui, MLA Pabubha Manek has invited him to reach there from Mithapur airport by road. Generally the Chief Minister reaches Mithapur by air and then he catches a chopper to reach Dwarka. But the MLA has insisted that Modi travels through the road to taste its worst condition which is thanks to neglected attitudes of state Road and buldings department.
It should be mentioned here that Rs. 2.12 crore bridge betewen Dwarka’s Gomti ghat and Panchkui has been named after Sudama. Panchkui is believed as a place of Pandavas well. The state government has set a target to complete the construction of Sudama setu in one year period.
The Chief Minister will also open the newly developed facilities worth Rs. 3 crore in Dwarka Mandir campus such as shoes cornor, luggage house, prashad place, CCTV camera operating room, the office of Devasthan committee, strong room for valuable ornaments, public library by Sharda peeth etc.
Dwarka Devasthan committee’s Vice President Parimal Nathwani, Yatradham Vikas department’s Minister Jaynarayan Vyas, Sharda peeth’s Dandi swami, MLA Pabubha Manek will be present in the function among others.
DeshGujarat adds
More you go far from the capital Gandhinagar, more you are likely to face the issue of poor condition of roads, especially in coastal area. One issue if poor construction of road, another is lacking of proper maintenance specifically in post-monsoon period, the third issue is heavy industrial traffic with over loaded truck that continues to damage the roads. Talking about Coastal Jamnagar district, this area faces the problem of poor roads since a long time. This year there was heavy and record breaking rain in this district(Jamkhambhalia experienced whopping 100 inch rain) which created great damage to local roads, however the administration is not responding to repair the roads. Similarly Sanasgir has been promoted well through TV advertisement, but if you go to Somnath from Sasangir, the condition of road is very poor.
