Gandhinagar, 30 January, 2011
According to a highly places source in Gandhiangar, the state government is planning to construct a new office building for the Chief Minister, the budget allocation for which is likely to be made in financial year 2011-12.
The Chief Minister’s office is situated on fifth floor of state secretariat building’s block no. 1 since 1960s. However citing the security issues, construction of a new separate four-storey building is proposed.
According to a source the new Rs. 20 crore separate high-tech office building for the Chief Minister could come up in Secretariat campus itself, on the backside of assembly building where about 60,000 square meter open area is available without trees.
The Chief Minister would be able to enter the new office building directly through a gate on ‘Chh’ road without creating any security related disturbance to employees and visitors of Secretariat where majority of government departments function from number of offices.
While the Chief Minister will sit on fourth floor, there will be all modern facilities and amenities on other floors including a video recording studio, conference hall, guest meeting room etc.
