Ahmedabad, 15 February, 2011

The city of Amdavad will witness Desert Storm, one of the two (other is Raid-de-Himalaya) toughest motor-sports events in India on 22 February. For the first time in its nine-year history Desert Storm will be flagged off from Amdavad.
The event will run from February 22 to 27, covering more than 3,000 kilometers with legs of more than 300 km each, the longest ever. It will have more than 125 participants in cars and about a dozen participants on bikes. From Amdavad, the rally will reach Beach camp in Kutch on February 22 itself. The next halt will be at Jaisalmer. The rally will end in Delhi on 27 February.
The annual rally introduced in 2003 was initially organized in Delhi and Rajasthan, but from 2007 onwards, it started passing through Gujarat.
