Modhwadia questions incentives to Nano, Niira Radia’s role(Video)
Gandhinagar, 28 February, 2011
Gujarat Congress leader and MLA from Porbandar Shri Arjunbhai Modhwadia today in Gujarat Assembly’s ongoing session made an allegation that Tata company’s liaison person Nira Radia played major role in securing Rs. 29000 crore incentives for Tata Motors Nano car manufacturing plant in Gujarat. Modhwadia said that when deal was signed for Nano plant, a meeting was held in presence of Narendra Modi, Ratan Tata and Niira Radia. Modhwadia claimed he possesses photographs of that meeting and he would present them at proper time. Modhwadia demanded formation of joint consultative committee on this issue.
Opposing Modhwadia’s remarks, the treasury bench members demanded not to allow those remarks to go on record as the allegation of Rs. 29000 crore loss to government due to inking this deal was baseless according to them. When Modhwadia objected such move, the Speaker asked him to submit evidences backing his statement. The Speaker would decide on this issue after looking into whatever the response from Modhwadia.
