Gujarat Congress brainstorm meet decides to start public struggle

Gujarat Congress on Thursday held a brainstorming session in Ahmedabad to revitalize the party in the state under its new president Arjun Modhvadia. Party’s leaders and workers discussed the state of affairs of the party. Gujarat Congress in-charge Mohan Prakash, who was also present at the meeting.

Modhwadis said:

“We have decided to go to the people to highlight the good schemes launched by the UPA government at the Centre which is driving the national growth. We will also expose the present BJP government which is serving just two per cent rich population of the state. The party has decided to go to the village and taluka level to rejuvenate itself.”

“Gujarat Congress will start struggle in coming days covering various issues against the state government.Farmers are facing great problem of electricity. 57 Talukas are under dark zone and 6 lakh farmers are without power connection. Landless people and farm laborers are not able to get residential plot. 70% urban poor are facing problem of housing. 8 lakh people are unemployed. Education has been commercialized. Poor students are facing fees problem. Gujarat government put people in illusion by organizing events like animal husbandry fairs, garib mela, krishi mela, praveshotsav. There’s rampant corruption going on in the government. To rescue the people of Gujarat from such situation, Congress workers will have to struggle continuously and will have to reach to the people.”

“Assembly election is only 21 months away, and lots of challenges are to be tackled. To fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the people, all workers have to be ready to turn Congress party into ‘party struggling for the people’ by going in public.”

Mohan Prakash, newly appointed state in-charge said:

“Congress workers are strong enough, they just need reminder of strength they possess. People of Gujarat are facing many issues. To rescue them from such situation Congress party will have to attempt. Congress party will have to struggle for Backward class, tribal, minority, women, poor, and deprived people because Gujarat’s BJP government which is the party of capitalists, and which works for only capitalists is not serious towards the problems of these people.”

“Congress party’s forthcoming programmes will have to be started from rural level. If we raise the issues of rural people, they will be united and they will start showing temperament about their issues. Villages have many issues like power, water and roads. We will have to raise such issues. Congress workers will have to meet one new person daily to inform him/her about Congress party. State Congress office bearers will have to stay in districts for at least 10 days in every month.”
