The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Estate department team today sealed Gujarat’s only international brand five-star hotel Courtyard Marriott on Satellite Road.

Courtyard Marriott’s Fire safety NOC(no objection certificate) was canceled by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC)’s Fire and Emergency Service department two days back after incident of fire at the sauna room. Fire and Emergency Service department had recommended closure of the hotel until revamped fire safety system takes place there.

The hotel was given some time to vacate the building as some international and domestic guests were needed to be relocated.However the hotel was found functioning even today. AMC’s sealing team reached and evacuated the premises to seal it.

According to Chief Fire officer M.F.Dastoor, Hotel had received fire safety NOC but at the time of fire couple of days back, systems like hydrant, sprinklers, detectors, pump were found non-functional. The hotel has been asked to revamp its fire system and make it completely functional. Once the system is corrected, the hotel will be awarded fire NOC again after thorough checking. This may take few days.

Operations temporarily on hold at Courtyard by Marriott, Ahmedabad

“Courtyard by Marriott, Ahmedabad confirms that the operations have been temporarily put on hold.
The approval for the NOC of the property is pending. We are currently co-operating with the authorities.
During this procedure The Marriott Group ensures convenience of its guests and associates, who are being proactively taken care of until we get any further notice from the authorities.”
