Modi, Advani to open bridges on 13th, public meeting in Paldi

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Vadaj-Dudheshwar river bridge(under JnNURM) and Parimal Railway under bridge on Wednesday, 13 April in presence of former Deputy Prime Minister of India Shri Lal Krishna Advani . Both Modi and Advani will address a public meeting at Suvidha Shopping centre just on the other end of the under bridge at 7.00 pm.

It is expected that Chief Minister Narendra Modi will name new Vadaj-Dudheshwar river bridge and Parimal Under bridge both on or before 13th. According to sources one of the names in consideration for new river bridge is former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s name. Ahmedabad’s all bridges are named after national leaders, be it Shastri bridge, Sardar bridge, Nehru bridge, Gandhi bridge, Subhash bridge or Indira bridge. Sardar bridge was named after Sardar Patel when he was living, same for Nehru bridge which was planned in presence of Nehru. While Indira bridge has been named after former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, it is being thought that BJP’s only Prime Minister and national leader Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s name should be given to Vadaj-Dudheshwar river bridge. One more name being thought about is Shri Ravi Shankar Maharaj bridge. Shri Ravi Shankar Maharaj inaugurated the state of Gujarat in 1960, and Gujarat is presently celebrating its golden jubilee year. However nobody knows what Modi will ultimately choose.
