Gujarat Congress in Delhi with ‘charter of lies’: Jaynarayan Vyas

“The corrupt policies of the UPA government is irretrievably harming the prestige of India,“ said Gujarat government spokespersons Jaynarayan Vyas and Saurabh Patel here on Friday while reacting to the petition submitted by the Gujarat Congress leaders today to the President of India.

The people are angry with the Central government and this has shaken the foundation of Congress rule. In order to hide their corrupt practices, the Congress was trying to spread its “charter of lies” against Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat government so as to tarnish the clean and transparent image of the state, Vyas said.

Even If iota evidence had existed against Narendra Modi the Congress would have gone to town and finished his political career, he said. So far they had failed to make any headway in befooling the people of Gujarat despite spreading the ‘charter of lies’. People are wary of Congress as lies and corruption is flowing in veins of the Congress. Now the Congress is using the CBI to the hilt for its nefarious ends. Yet the people are not fooled and have realized its gameplan, Vyas said.

The barrage of lies has failed to work against the chief minister of Gujarat. And the fear now is the Congress could redouble its efforts in maligning the chief minister. Since people are seeing through the lies the state Congress leaders have now gone to Delhi to please the Congress high command and gain cheap popularity in the eyes of media which is ridiculous to say the least, Vyas said.

The Congress-led UPA government is completely embroiled in corruption and scams and Central ministers and middlemen are now cooling their heels in jail. To divert people’s attention the CBI is being used as a tool to attack Narendra Modi, Vyas added.

Today’s plot to please the high command and to hog media limelight has also failed to impress the people of India as they now realize that Congress itself is embroiled in unending corruption and this has dented our country’s prestige, Saurabh Patel said adding that among the crop of leaders of the world today “Narendra Modi stands out as the only leader who has a clean and honest image and the world knows it. The plot of the Gujarat Congress has therefore come unstuck,” Patel said.

The policies and administration of the Gujarat’s BJP government is so transparent and self-evident that no former Congress middleman dares to indulge in corruption in Gujarat. What is notable is that the Congress-led UPA government has itself given numerous awards to Gujarat government recognizing its efforts in bringing about qualitative changes in state administration. Since Gujarat’s administrative excellence has become sore eyes for Congressmen then why not launch a campaign to malign the Chief Mnister Narendra Modi so the Congressmen might have thought, Vyas said adding “it is irresponsible behaviour of the state Congress to go on overdrive that is nothing but an exercise in self-delusion.”

Describing as baseless and untrue the charges levelled in the Congress memorandum about land allotted to industrialists at Gandhinagar, the spokespersons said the present Government had announced an incentive policy for Information Technology for five years in 2006. The land was allotted to the industry at market price in a transparent manner in the range of Rs.1,100 to Rs.6,000 per sq m. In sharp contrast, the Congress-ruled states allotted land in metros like Hyderabad, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, Mangalore and Chandigarh at Rs.125 to 544 per sq m. Which state has indulged in corruption by disbursing land to industries at dirt cheap rates? They asked.

Rather, the ministers said, it was the then Congress-backed Government’s in Gujarat which handed over land to Adani Industrial Group at a token rate of Rs.1 at Mundra in January 31, 1997 and October 8, 1997. Let the Congress find out who was the Chief Minister then.

Of late the Congress leaders seem to have developed a penchant for leveling baseless charges against Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s unblemished record of governance for the sake of cheap publicity. However it is sure to boomerang in the forthcoming Assembly elections similar to the thrashing the Congress candidates received in the recently concluded local bodies and panchayat elections.

Referring to Modi’s initiative to bring Tata’s Nano project to Gujarat, the Ministers said he had preserved national interest by preventing the project from going out of the country. The Ministers asked the Congress leaders to compare the policy decisions of the two States as the sops announced by Gujarat were far less than that announced by West Bengal. They dared the Congress to prove the allegations that Gujarat Government had facilitated loans worth Rs.9,570-crore to the Tatas. The Congress should reveal which bank provided the loan and who were the signatories.

The Ministers said it was for the first time that the present Government had made farmers as partners in industrial progress in lieu of their land. The people of Gujarat are aware about the corruption during the Congress rule from 1980 to 1995 as to how much land has been given to whom at what rates.

World over Gujarat is considered as the best governed State for its transparent and pro-people policies because of the vision and leadership provided by Chief Minister Narendra Modi. He stands tall compared unlike the UPA-led Central Government weighed down under its own scams and frauds, the ministers said.
