Shankersinh Vaghela’s show of strength on his birthday(VIDEO)

Former Gujarat Chief Minister and Congress leader Shri Shankersinh Vaghela today celebrated his 72nd birthday at his Gandhinagar residence ‘Vasant vagado’ amid rumor that he would announce a major political decision today.

After lots of press advertising and banners and hoardings on the roads of Ahmedabad, Vaghela’s today’s birthday gathering was largely considered as his show of strength, by political pundits in Gandhiangar.

The birthday function was however attended by few hundred supporters. Vaghela cut birthday cake and briefly talked with media(watch video).

Thanking the people, he said “I thank all the people who have come from across the state for this occasion”. Adding to that Mr Vaghela said “I believe that the blessings and wishes of the people give me strength in accomplishing my work”. He than sat and received bouquets and gifts from his supporters.

While talking to the media he said “We will go to the people for the assembly elections of 2012″. He added “I am sure the people of Gujarat face a lot of problems, be roads, electricity, water, unemployment or law and order.” He said in that context “We will raise our voices and I expect the people to show me their support.”

He confidently said that he’s continuing to work with Congress.
