IIMA to train school principals,Gujarat govt to bear the cost

IIM Ahmedabad will train Gujarat’s government secondary school principals.

The project proposed by the government has been approved by the IIMA Director.

According to details available from IIMA, initially some school principals are to be called for discussion.

The IIMA professors associated with this project will obtain details from the professors about the problems they face while managing school.

After this short workshop, case papers will be prepared.

The actual training program will begin in September this year with first batch size of 200 principals.

One week long program will focus on management aspect of school.

It should be mentioned here that generally in school system, a teacher becomes principal. While such principals do have academic experience, it is not necessary that they do understand management of school also.

Entire cost of the training of government secondary school principals will be beared by the government.
