Vishva Hindu Parishad’s Gujarat unit today staged dharna against Communal violence bill.

VHP leaders said ‘Sonia Gandhi led National Advisory Council has proposed a bill that is intended to make minority community stronger, and to crush the Hindu organizations.

“In the name of prevention of communal violence, this bill will actually protect those practicing communal violence. It will target those Hindu organizations that raise voice against violence against Hindus. This bill is against fundamental principals of India’s constitution. It has provision that would make it possible for centre to interfere in state government’s work,” VHP release said.

Regarding the bill, Vishva Hindu Parishad has raised objection on following points:

-As per the constitution, an accused is not guilty untill he is proved guilty, but this bill has a provision that until one proves himself innocent, he would be considered guilty. This means, it will be easier for non-Hindu to send Hindu person to jail.

-Non-Hindu will just make allegation and police official will send Hindu person to jail.

-Due to such provisions, police official will try his best to put a Hindu in jail because official will have to submit progress report to person who files complaint.

-If some organization’s worker faces charge of communal hatred, a person heading that organization can be trapped.

-If there’s failure to stop communal violence due to administration, the Chief Minister of that state will be considered responsible.
