SC reserves order on Amicus Curiae's report, keeps it confidential

The Supreme Court today said it would keep Amicus Curiae Raju Ramachandran’s views on the Special Investigation Team(SIT) report about Modi’s role in 2002 confidential.

The Supreme Court refused to hand over Amicus Curiae’s report to Gujarat government.

Gujarat government had demanded a copy of Amicus Curiae’s report, but SC said its confidential and will not be shared.

The Supreme Court said its too early to speak on Amicus Curiae’s report, but it is an elaborate one. The SC reserved its order on Amicus Curiae’s report.

Modi’s fate — whether he faces a criminal case or not — partially depends on the report of senior advocate Ramachandran, who was asked by a special bench of Justices D K Jain, P Sathasivam and Aftab Alam to weigh the evidence on record and give an expert opinion on it.

Ramachandran had visited Gujarat and interacted with several witnesses and people connected with the issue before giving his report to the court.
