Gujarat Congress slams Narendra Modi for giving state guest status to Raj Thackeray(Video)
Ahmedabad, 5 August, 2011
Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia today criticized Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for providing state guest status to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Chief Raj Thackeray.
Modhwadia said his party has problem with Narendra Modi’s this move because it is not as per the rules. Modhwadis said why the state government should spend money from treasury for a person like Raj Thackeray who has never apologized for his behavior in past due to which Gujarati people residing in Mumbai faced lots of hardship. Modhwadia further said that he had a compact disc showing what Thackeray had said in Mumbai in past.
Modhwadia said as Gujarat has culture of hospitality, Congress party has not opposed Raj Thackeray’s visit, but state guest status and spending government money for Raj’s visit is highly objectionable.
Modhwadis said one of the reasons why Modi has given ‘state guest’ status to Raj could be similarity in Modi’s Raj’s way of thinking.
Meanwhile Raj Thackeray today visited A Rajkot based industrial unit. He also went to Khirsara heritage hotel and then went to Shri Somnath mandir by road.
