Modi to launch GJ-27 series with a new RTO office in Vastral

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate a new regional transport office(RTO) in Vastral area of Ahmedabad on Monday. The new RTS sub regional office is part of the decentralization of the regional transport office in Ahmedabad.
The existing Ahmedabad RTO handles 1.4 crore visitors. Once decentralized, the existing office will cover about 50 lakh vehicle owners, while the Vastra office will handle around 20 lakh owners. One more sub office is planned at Bavla which will handle 60 lakh vehicle owners.
The Vastral sub office will be dedicated to the vehicle owners from east Ahmedabad areas of Baherampura, Kankaria, Indrapuri, Khokhra, Maninagar, Danilimda, Lambha, Isanpur, Gohdasar, Vatva, Nikol, Viratnagar, Bapunagar, Gomtipur, Rakhial, Rajpur, Arbudanagar, Odhav, Vastral, Mahavirnagar, Bhaipura, Hatkeshwar, Amraivadi, Ramol, Hathijan and villages located on the eastern side of Sabarmati river in Daskroi taluka. It will give a new number plate series – GJ-27. Presently all new vehicles registered in Ahmedabad get GJ-1 series.
The new RTO office will be completely computerized with single window system.
The Bavla sub regional office will cover rural areas around Ahmedabad including the areas like Bopal. It will issue GJ-28 series numbers.
