Gujarat BJP kicks off agitation against Governor(Video)

With a slogan of “Governor go back”, MLAs of Gujarat BJP today staged dharna at Ahmedabad’s Sardar garden.

The dharna programme was held under the leadership of Gujarat BJP President Ranchhodbhai Faldu.

According to state BJP leader I.K.Jadeja the party will demand that President of India should recall Governor Kamla Beniwal(84) from Gujarat.

State BJP President RC Faldu said on Monday that of late, the Governor has been taking decisions that wee damaging to Gujarat’s reputation at the instance of the Congress-led UPA government at the centre.

Who is Kamla Beniwal?

Kamla Beniwal hails from Rajasthan. She has served as Tripura Governor before taking over in Gujarat. She insists on being addressed by her first name as the surname is indicative of caste. The freedom struggle is part of her background. Wife of Late Ram chandra Beniwal, she is the fighter of Netram Singh, a freedom fighter from erstwhile Jaipur state.

Born on January, 12, 1927 in Gorir village of Jhujnjhunu district, she has an MA in history from Maharaja college. She has been Rajasthan’s first woman minister, having taken oath at age 27, and has been a minister in several Congress governments since 1954.She was 82 when sworn in as governor of Gujarat on November 28, 2009.
