Open your parking space or face demolition: AMC notice to 321 commercial buildings

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has issued notices to as many as 321 commercial buildings instructing them to remove illegal construction in building’s parking area by 31 October.
If parking space is not cleared by building users by 31 October, the AMC teams will come in action and will demolish the illegal construction. According to Assistant Town Development Officer Mayank Shah, building users will have to pay fine and expenses of demolition exercise in that case.
77 out of total 321 buildings that are given notice are in new west zone.
Buildings that don’t keep parking space open as per original plan encourage road side parking which makes road narrower.
