When anger against price rise was at its height, the Prime Minister of India formed several working groups to find steps and solutions. One of the working groups called working group on consumer affairs was formed under the leadership of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. The other members of the committee were the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
In DailyPioneer, Shri Kanchan Gupta writes that a slim report with 20 recommendations and 64 detailed actionable points presented to the PM by this working group led by Modi is now eating dust in some corner of PM’s office for past six months.
Kanchan Gupta provides some details of this report and concludes that Modi Committee report on controlling the prices of essential commodities makes eminent sense, but instead of taking action on it, the report has been filed and forgotten!!
