Congress party’s Dholka MLA Kanjibhai Talpada’s son has been arrested with three others for threatening a person with revolver in drunk condition.

Dholka MLA Kanjibhai Talpada’s son Jitendra Chavda had given Rs 15,000 to one Vicky, son of Revandas who owns Jalaram hotel in Kalupur area of Ahmedabad. Jitendra was knowing Vicky through a common friend Rujul. Rujul’s father Gautambhai Patel was working in ADC bank with Jitendra.

Vicky took the money, but didn’t care to return it according to Jitendra. Vicky had taken money from Jitendra during gambling sit during Shravan month.Vicky says he had given Rs 5,000 back to Jitendra.

Thus Jitendra along with his friends Rujul, Bharat Desai, Nitin Chavda and Chetan went to Jalaram hotel in white Swift car.

When they reached Jalaram hotel, Vicky was not there, but his father was there.

Vicky’s father Revandas alleged that Jitendra showed him revolver and demanded his Rs 15,000 back. Revandas gave Jitendra Rs 15,000 but also filed police case.

Jitendra however says he had never showed Revandas a revolver. Jitendra says he has licensed revolver and it was with him, but he didn’t show it to Revandas.

The fact is that the revolver licence was given to Jitendra’s father who is MLA. Due to poor health and age of Kanjibhai Talpada, his son Jitendra was keeping revolver with him as retainer. Police may cancel license of revolver.

Jitendra alleged that Revandas had filed false case against him and his friends. Jitendra also said that Vicky was not answering his calls after taking money.

Police said all four friends were drunk when they went to Jalaram hotel, and further investigation was on in this case.

Meanwhile Kanjibhai Talpada, father of Jitendra and Dholka MLA told media that Jitendra had called him after he was caught by police but he refused to provide any help as he hates liquor.

Kanjibhai said he had told Jitendra in past that he should not consume liquor. Kanjibhai said he had plan to retire and give Jitendra a chance to contest Dholka assembly poll on Congress ticket next year, and in that reference too he had adviced Jitendra not to drink.

Kanjibhai said Jitendra works in Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank’s Mahalakshmi branch in Paldi area of Ahmedabad abd he lives separately in city’s Jivraj park area.
