Eunuch gang leader Sonia de alias Imran Ajmeri(original name) was shot dead near Ahmedabad’s Nehru bridge today evening. She was enjoying Pani puri near Rupali cinema in Lal darwaja area when some persons came closer in car and killed her by firing 6 rounds at her.

Soniade Pawaiya came into limelight when she contested election against Lal Krishna Advani. She had also stood for the assembly elections from Shahpur against Kaushik Patel of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She grabbed attention by supporting Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement and also was in news for supporting Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s Sadbhavana fast in Ahmedabad. Soniade tied rakhi to Modi on Sadbhavana stage. When Asaram Bapu allegedly passed derogatory remark about eunuchs, Soniade had started agitation against him. Lastly Soniade was in news by claiming that she lost 70 tola gold in Delhi where fire incident occurred in eunuchs function.

She married one Yusuf Pilot and had been living with him.

Soniade was involved in some notorious activities like money recovery by force on order, and hafta vasuli in the name of boni. She was attacked in past too near Nehru bridge and was hospitalized, but survived the attack. A

Soniade’s rival eunuch gang Sanju de pawaiya of Amraiwadi was always upset with Soniade’s rise. Eunuchs of Sanjude group were of opinion that Soniade was fake eunuch and just gay identifying herself as eunuch and covering traditional areas of Sanjude group.
