Ahmedabad, 30 November, 2011
As code of conduct is in place in the state due to Gram Panchayats election on 29 December, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will not be able to announce development schemes in the districts where his Sadbhavana fasts would take place.
Be it Tapi or Narmada or Dang district, Modi had started announcing schemes worth 100s of crore during his Sadbhavana fast speeches.
On December 29th, Gujarat is going to witness the biggest poll exercise before 2012 Gujarat assembly general election.
While all Garib Kalyan Melas are already completed before the announcement of Gram Panchayat polls, more than a dozen Sadbhavana fasts are yet to be held in several districts. Next Sadbhavana fast is planned at Bhavnagar on 3rd December.
So far Sadbhavana fast programmes are completed in Ahmedabad city, Dwarka(Jamnagar), Porbandar, Bhachau(Kutch), Patan, Bodeli(Vadodara rural), Rajpipla(Narmada), Navsari, Songadh(Tapi) and Dang.
Next in line-up for Modi is Kutch Rann Utsav, Kankaria Carnival, Chintan Shibir, International Kite Festival among other programmes.
