Good going demolition man Guruprasad Mohapatra

Ahmedabad, 17 December 2011

Shri Guruprasad Mohapatra, Commissioner of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is very aggressive in his drive against illegal Ahmedabad. It is good that, putting aside all political compulsions, even the political wing (ruling BJP) is backing him in his drive, without interfering.

Illegal Ahmedabad is part of the city that is constructed illegally. Everyday, the AMC announces demolition of one or other illegal construction in the city, which is good news, because in past some years, the boundary area of entire city was witnessing haphazard and illegal constructions, especially in east, south and north parts.

In last few weeks, even 5-floor high illegal constructions are demolished by the AMC team. Sensitive areas like Juhapura or Jamalpur are also not spared by the AMC teams, and they continue to work there under police protection.

Presented above is the photo of latest target of AMC. This 2700 sq ft construction was demolished in Vatava area today.
