Advani skips Gujarat BJP MPs meet in Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar, 30 December 2011

Central BJP leader and former deputy Prime Minister Shri Lal Krishna Advani skipped his scheduled and well-announced Gandhinagar visit today.

Advani was to attend Gujarat BJP MPs meet in Gandhinagar under the leadership of Gujarat BJP President Shri RC Faldu in presence of Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Arun Jaitley too skipped the meeting, however Jaitley’s absence is understandable as he is leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha and he was busy in Delhi after yesterday night affair in the house. Jaitley addressed a press conference too in the afternoon in Delhi in relation to yesterday’s events in Rajya Sabha. Contrary to Jaitley’s absence, Advani’s absent is hard to digest. However BJP sources said that Advani was busy in parliamentary board’s urgent meeting.

Advani is also a member of parliament from Gandhinagar. However he hardly visits his constituency. His flying visits to constituency help little to the people on the ground here. Gujaratis are generous to elect him everytime though.

Advani also is regularly irregular in attending Gujarat MPs meetings, whenever called by the Chief Minister in Gandhinagar to discuss the issues of Gujarat with centre that are needed to be addressed in parliament.

It should be noted that yesterday the Gujarat BJP had issued a press release informing that Advani would attend all Gujarat MPs meeting in Gandhinagar. Simultaneously Mayor of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) had also issued a press release informing that Advani would visit Kankaria lake front and would ride a balloon, kids train and visit Kids city.
