Siliguri, May 8 (ANI):
Indian farmers on Thursday refused water-sharing of Teesta river with Bangladesh as they are facing huge water crisis due to arid pocket canals and lack of rainfall in districts of Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling in West Bengal. Farmers expressed their discontent with the present proposals of water-sharing between the two countries and urged the government to come out with a plan where nobody incurs a loss. One of the farmers facing water problems, Jotin Barman, said that if water from Teesta river is passed onto Bangladesh, then they would face loss in agricultural production.
