In pictures: A few areas of east Ahmedabad suffered water logging continuously on second day

Generally water logging complains are over few hours after the rain has stopped, but this time in Ahmedabad, several areas including CTM, Bhaipura, Nikol, Chamanpura suffered water logging problem even after 24 hours of rain. Whatever may be the reason of this water logging, it has to be checked. Whether the storm water lines were suffering blockage due to plastic dumping, or they were not cleaned during pre-monsoon cleaning exercise, whatever is the reason, it should be checked and corrected so that people don’t face such problem in future. It’s true that rainfall was high, but then water logging even after 24 hours suggests that the problem is in pipe lines laid beneath the ground for this purpose. The next challenge for AMC will be sanitation and health issues in these areas. Road construction task will follow.
