Narayan Sai case: Income Tax officer gets death threat on phone

Ahmedabad/Surat

Income Tax official who is probing into Asaram Bapu and his son Narayan Sai’s 42 bundles of documents handed over to Income Tax department by Surat Police has received death threat. A police complaint in this regard has been filed in Umra Police Station of Surat.

According to MR Patel of Umra Police Station, yesterday evening Income Tax officer Prem Nath arrived at police station and filed complaint that his mother who lives in Ahmedabad had received a phone call on which an unidentified person in Hindi language issued death threat. He said: Tumhare bete ko batana ki sidha chale, varna mar denge. When police checked the mobile number from which call was received, it found the sim card of said number was missing for last one year or so.

It should be mentioned here that when Surat Police was searching for Narayan Sai in rape case at one location in Ahmedabad, it found 42 bundles of documents from that location. Surat Police had recently handed over these bundles to Income Tax department for probe.

To get these bundles back, Sadhaks of Asaram Ashram had offered bribe to cops in Surat. However Sadhaks and cops involved in this affair were arrested later on.

Several witnesses of Asaram and Narayan Sai case have been killed or attacked so far. Police is therefore taking the latest complaint by Income Tax officer seriously.
