Let attack on Kella be the starting point of elimination of land mafias

Attack on former BJP MLA Dhanraj Kella in Surendranagar should he a starting point of police’s operation against all land mafias active in Surendranagar and other nearby areas.

For last some time, land mafias have flourished in Surendranagar-Wadhwan and surrounding areas. Locals complain that police is somehow not able to tackle this menace. No action or soft actions by police encourage land mafias to continue and even increase their nuisance.

The latest incident has come to notice because victim is former BJP MLA Dhanraj Kella.

According to a complaint filed in ‘B’ division police station in Surendranagar by Dhanraj Kella, five persons including Hitesh, Raju, Ranchhod Bhardrwas and one unidentified person attacked him and snatched away his revolver. They also fired round from revolver.

Kella said the attackers wanted money from him as he was constructing a housing scheme on his land.

As Kella is locally influential, police is in action. DySP and district police chief also are taking interest in this case. If it was some common man and not Kella, the attackers had nothing to worry about.

Now police has opportunity to treat this case as starting point and take strict actions against all land mafias so aggressively that the menace of land mafiagiri is eliminated in this belt.

Surendranagar is going to observe bandh in reaction to this incident, as everyone feels that if mafias can attack such an influential local politician of ruling party, imagine what about a common man.

Let Surendranagar Police eliminate lad mafias and create fear free atmosphere for locals and join the list of Gujarat Police’s recent successes.
