Torrent Power tariff up by 15 paise/unit, BPL/farmers/first 200 units exempted

Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) has allowed Torrent Power Limited(TPL) to increase power tariff by 15 paise per unit.
The revised tariff shall be applicable for the electricity consumption from the 1st April, 2015 onwards.
There will be no increase in power tariff for Below Poverty Line(BPL) and Agriculture consumers.
Also there will be no increase in tariff rates for the first 200 units of monthly consumption by residential consumers.
Overall increase for all other categories of consumers is 15 paise per unit that includes increase in Fixed/demand charge and energy charges. The increase is to the tune of 2.36%.
