Plastic cup/wrappers ban: AMC conducts raids

Department of Health, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) on 1st May seized 910 kg plastic cups/wrappers and collected Rs. 2 lakh administrative charge. AMC issued 150 notices and sealed 41 units in this connection.

Chai shops, pan parlous, vendors of food items use low quality plastic cups wrappers and plastic bags that block gutter and drainage lines and create nuisance.

AMC had taken decision to ban usage of such materials with effect from 1st May 2015. Accordingly raids were conducted mostly over pan and tea shops at number of place across the city.
