Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) has launched a new scheme, offering free plantation of tree at your place by expert AMC team itself.

Citizens who want to plant trees at their residence or nearby place can SMS their address, number of plants to be planted and variety of plant to mobile numbers 97 27 76 00 23 or 97 27 76 00 25.

The garden department team of AMC will arrive at your doorstep and plant the tree. You will need to take care of that tree late on.

The varieties offered by the AMC include Gul Mahoar, Peltophorum, Saptaparni, Kanji, Kachnar, Kashid, Vad, Pipal, Piplo, Borsalli, Garmalo etc. The AMC has launched this initiative to ensure plantation of maximum trees during upcoming period of monsoon.

Mayor of Ahmedabad today launched Green Action Plan of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC).

According to city Mayor, the citizens of Ahmedabad will avail free tree plantation service by AMC at their own place. The AMC had implemented such SMC Tree Plantation Scheme in 2014-15 which had attracted huge response from citizens. The Mayor announced relaunch of same service, details of which are presented below:

– Send your name, address, type of tree plant and number of plants you want by SMS to phone number 97 277 600 23 or 97 277 600 25.

– The citizen can also register through AMC’s mobile application and seek tree for plantation at private place.

– AMC will in response facilitate tree plantation without any charge.

– Tree plantation procedure will start from 25 June after one round of sufficient shower.

– Types of plants to be available under this scheme are: Neem, Gulmahor, Peltophorum , Kanji, Kashid, Garmalo, Millettia , Borsalli, Saptaparni, Tebubia Rozia, Kadam, Khati Ambli, Jambu etc.

– AMC will seek commitment letter from citizen in which the citizen will need to promise that he/she would take care of plant until it develop into tree.

The AMC has organized a function to further propel tree plantation drive in upcoming monsoon at Sabarmati river front event ground in Paldi at 5.00 pm on world environment day on 5 June.
