Donkeys pull Land Cruiser car in Surat

Surat based builder Tushar Ghelani is upset with local dealer from whom he purchased Toyota Land Cruiser car. Fed up with regular issues regarding car and its service, Ghelani in presence of media made his car pulled by donkeys in protest.

He said Mumbai based dealer Millennium Toyota had ordered 20 Land Cruiser cars in year 2009. Cost of each car was Rs 1.13 crore. Surat based Toyota dealer requested me to buy a car. I have never been happy with this car once I purchased it. Whether I want to change oil or replace brake liners or button cell of key, parts are ordered from Bangalore and they take five to ten days. Parts are not available with dealer at all.

He further said, liners need to be replaced in Land Cruiser after 5,000 km. I wanted to travel to Shirdi with my family for darshan of Sai Baba, but due to issues with liner, I had to send my car for service, and then I was replied that liners would come from Bangalore and it would take some time.Due to such reply, I had to cancel my Shirdi visit. I was so angry that I hired donkeys to pull this car in protest.

Ghelani said, when this car was launched in Mumbai, 20 VVIPs including Raj Thackeray, Vijay Malya, Navjot Singh Siddhu, Jyotiraditya Scendia came to purchase it. I was emotional and therefore purchased the car from Surat based dealer instead of Mumbai, and that was my biggest mistake. For smallest issues, I have paid Rs 25,000-50,000 for service of this car. In near future I will go to consumer court to recover my money.
