Relief Committee formed in Surat for Saurashtra flood victims

BJP MLA Praful Panseria will donate his one year salary as municipal Councillor to relief fund for flood victims of Saurashtra region.

MLA Kishor Kanani, Surat Mayor Niranjan Zanzmera, Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) town planning committee chairman Babu Jirawala, Ajit Bhanderi, VD Zalavadia, Mukesh Kothia among others have also made same or similar announcement.

They all will all donate the sum to a relief committee for flood victims formed in a meeting held in SUrat in presence of leaders of Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj, Surat Diamond Association and other organizations.

A documentary on loss to property and life in flood-hit areas of Saurashtra region was shown to those present in meeting.

Additional Collector of Amreli Shri JK Thesia was also present in this meeting. He provided guidance on what should be done in flood-hit villages.

A committee was formed at the end of the meeting under the leadership of Jayanti Babaria and Maganbhai Shroff.

The committee will mobilize aid for flood-hit region mainly from Mumbai and Surat.

A decision was taken that mass wedding function shall be held post-Diwali at Bagasara in Amreli district in which 500 couples will take part. Each family participating in mass wedding will be given Rs 25,000 aid from Vallabh Savani family.
