Sanat Mehta still breathing, here is the latest on his status

Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, Congress leader Ahmed Patel, Arjun Modhwadia, Jaynarayan Vyas among others tweeted condolence over veteran leader, former Finance Minister and former Lok Sabha MP from Surendranagar Shri Sanat Mehta’s sad demise today morning.

Shri Mehta’s personal secretary Shri Zahur Ahmed over an email to DeshGujarat at 11.32 am had conveyed following message: Our beloved and respected Sanat Mehta Sir is no more. The funeral procession will begin at 5:00 PM from his residence (34, Sakuntal Park, Manjalpur, Vadodara). The last rites will be held at Bahucharaji Crematorium. He is survived by his son and daughter.

Surprisingly at around 2.00 pm former minister Shri Jaynarayan Vyas tweeted: It’s miracle . Shri Sanatbhai started breathing.

Also Congress leader Shankersinh Vaghela told media persons in Vadodara that Sanatbhai was not dead.

DeshGujarat called Shri Zahur Ahmed to know what’s the actual status. Here is what Shri Ahmed told us on phone: Yesterday night we talked to doctors who were involved in treatment including neuro physician. We were told that he was in problem. But he was still on ventilator support. We decided to withdraw the ventilator support in the morning and took decision to allow nature to work on its on way. We had ventilator support upto his house today when he was brought from hospital in ambulance. According to doctors, his body organs could continue to work for next three-hours or so. Technically he is breathing and therefore not dead. At the same time his situation has not improved. He is fighting with death. His brain is not working. Doctors threw light on his eyes, but there was no sensitivity, while the fact is that this is the most sensitive part. We have made preparations for 5.00 pm(earlier declared time of funeral procession to begin). Those who conveyed condolence messages are not untrue though. He is living but this is not life. Just his organs are working.

Sanat Mehta’s family told a media representative that he is “miraculously improving” after being declared dead this morning. Mehta’s son, Sheetal, said, “Thank God, my Dad is miraculously survived and improving after bringing home.”

Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia posted a message from Sheetal Sanatbhai Mehta on Facebook, “Thank God, my Dad is miraculously survived and improving after bringing home. Please ignore my earlier message. Thanks. Sheetal mehta.”
