We can not cross legal and constitutional boundaries: Gujarat BJP chief
Bardoli(South Gujarat)

Gujarat BJP president RC Faldu while speaking at Bardoli town in south Gujarat on Thursday said the ruling party can not cross the boundary line of legal and constitutional provisions. His this remark was in connection with the ongoing Patidar(Patels) community agitation demanding inclusion in Other Backward Class(OBC) quota for jobs and college admissions.

“If we wish, we can move an agenda to please the Patidars, but BJP doesn’t want to cheat anyone. We can not cross legal and constitutional boundaries,” Faldu said from the stage in Bardoli.

He said poor persons will have to be given hand and included in the main stream of development path.

Faldu said, “in the past Congress had pushed Gujarat to devastation due to its selfish motives. It was Narendra Modi who pulled out the state from that situation. Congress is again doing the same behind the curtain and misguiding the people.”

“The issues related to reservation are due to Congress party’s 50 years long rule. Gujarat government will not take a single decision that may cause injustice to anyone.”

“In view of High Court and Supreme Court verdicts, just to please Patidars for five days, the Gujarat government will not give reservation to Patidars.”

“Congress-led UPA government in centre had given 5% reservation to Jats in 8 states. The decision was rejected by the Supreme Court. Apart from this, the states that had given reservation under pressure had to reverse the decision following the orders in the High Courts and Supreme Court.”

“In such circumstances, the BJP government doesn’t want to do injustice to Patidar community. Our government has honestly formed a seven members committee to find a way in direction to resolve the issue. Those involved in agitation have been invited by the government with respect. The state government is capable to give justice to an community. We can’t give reservation, but we can take administrative decisions and extend help to those who are poor but out of the reservation system. We can find a way to provide education, employment facilities to their children, and the state government is determined to do that.”

Faldu was here to inaugurate a new party office of Bardoli town.

Speaking on this occasion state BJP general secretary Bharatsinh Parmar said Congress is expert in waging proxy war.

District BJP chief Suresh Patel said in upcoming local body elections, we will need to give account of the works done to get votes.
