Standing crops across Gujarat in need of another round of shower

Standing crop in fields across Gujarat is in need of a round of shower for survival.
Gujarat has witnessed the driest August in a decade this year with rain deficit for the state touching 11%. Saurashtra.
Weather experts blame El Nino factor for this. They say, as there’s no monsoon depression or low pressure developing over the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Seaa, there’s no possibility of rainfall in the coming week in Gujarat.
By 24 August, the state has witnessed 91.41% sowing. Another week without rain will put standing crop in critical condition.
