During upcoming weekend(Jamnashtami), Gujarat Congress will shift its headquarters from existing Paldi area to Gurukul area of city.
A four-storey building in Gurukul area will house the new office of Congress party.
Party leaders privately admits that Vastu is a main reason for the shift, but on record, they claim old party office is too small, and the new office will work as extension.
Insiders say new office has been given southern direction entrance and therefore three upper floors have been hired in a building. Existing office has entrance in western direction. Also there are some other Vastu related issues with current office.
The decision to shift the office has been taken by state party president Bharatsinh Solanki.
In long term, Solanki plans to move party office to SG highway area in bigger plot.
BJP had also shifted its headquarters from the Old City area in Ahmedabad to a swanky new office in state capital, Gandhinagar in 2014.
