Gujarat Congress postpones shifting of its headquarters

It is learnt that Gujarat Congress has postponed its decision to shift the state party headquarters to a new building in Gurukul area. Central leadership of party felt that reports suggesting that the state Congress chief wished to shift the office to newer place due to vastu related issues in present office create wrong perception about party. The new building meanwhile is ready with posters of Congress leaders and furniture. Earlier reports suggested that party would shift the office on Janmashtami.
Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Manish Doshi said, ‘It is not right to say that the state head quarters of the office was being shifted. In fact the new office is just an extension office of the main one. The plan to open it tomorrow has been postponed as much of the work including that of electricity and telephone lines has not been completed as yet.’
Denying of having any knowledge of ‘Vastu Dosha’ being a reason for opening the new office Mr. Doshi claimed that it was being done for ‘geographical’ and other strategic reasons.
‘In any case we are not going to close down the earlier office in Paladi area. The president will also come there and many of the operations would be conducted from their as usual, The new office is just an extension of the old one’ he said.
He however, could not say as to when the new office in Memnagar locality in the western part of the city would open.
