Around 200 contractors today locked the main gate of Pipavav Shipyard in Amreli district of Gujarat. They didn’t allow trucks to enter inside the Shipyard and vowed to continue to do the same until their pending payments are not released. The group of protesting contractors claimed that over Rs 60 crore payment for various works was pending and they wanted the company to release it immediately. It should be noted that Pipavav Shipyard has been taken over by Anil Ambani led ADAG group. Contractors claimed their payment is pending before Anil Ambani’s takeover.
