District Collector stops installation of Rajiv Gandhi’s statue in Deesa

District collector of Banaskantha in north Gujarat has stopped installation of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi’s statue at Fuvara circle here.
Congress ruled Deesa Municipality was in process to install Rajiv Gandhi’s statue at Fuvara circle. A resolution in this regard was passed on 21 April. Construction for foundation of statue was started then after.
However the district collector has stopped the work citing Supreme Court guideline.
Further discussion on this issue will be held on 9 September.
