Patel reservation stir supporters burst firecrackers in Gujarat

Ahmedabad

Even as the supporters of the Patel or Patidar reservation stir bursted firecrackers in many cities of Gujarat to ‘rejoice’ the victory of Nitish Kumar led grand-alliance in Bihar, a prominent pro-reservation outfit of Patel community in the state, Sardar Patel Group (SPG) today claimed that the Bihar results would have a major effect on the local body polls in Gujarat.

SPG president Lalji Patel said the BJP will have to suffer heavy losses in the local polls slated to be held in two phases on November 22 and 29.

‘Bihar is just a trailer the picture is yet to come and you should wait till December 2 (the counting day of the local polls) for this,’ he said.

Mr. Patel said, ‘BJP chief Amit Shah had said that if his party lost in Bihar, firecrackers will be bursted in Pakistan. Now no such thing has happened in Pakistan but the whole of Gujarat was bursting fire crackers. Not only Patidars but all other communities fighting for reservation were happy about the happenings in Bihar.’

Meanwhile, a prominent leader of Patidar Anamat Aandolan Samiti (PAAS) Atul Patel claimed that the BJP would have to face the consequences of atrocities on his community in all the coming polls including the local by polls.

Patel reservation Stir supporters who have declared support to Congress party in upcoming local body polls today burnt firecrackers in Ghatlodia, Aslali, Narol, Bapunagar and other areas of Ahmedabad along with Surat, Rajkot, Mahesana and other cities of the state. They started shouting slogans soon after the initial trends showing leads for BJP started reverting.
