Noted film actor and BJP MP Paresh Raval today accepted that the Patidar reservation stir was an issue in the local body polls in Gujarat but claimed that the community would support the ruling party remembering the regime of Congress chief minister Madhavsinh Solanki.

Talking to newsmen during his campaign for BJP in Rajkot today Raval said,’ It would be wrong to say that the Patidar agitation was not at all an issue. It is for sure an issue but will end as the Patidar or Patel community is now understanding the BJP stance and would support it in the local polls.’

He said that the Patidar community remembers the days of the rule of Madhavsinh Solanki who had committed excesses and won’t go with the Congress party.

Meanwhile on a day filled with star studded campaigns, actor Raj Babbar canvassed for Congress in Vadodara and took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his development model.

Taking a dig at the foreign tours and dress of the PM, Raj Babbar said,’ sometime I don’t make out whether he is a pradhanmantri (PM) or a Paridhanmantri (apparel minister). The development doesn’t come by talking alone. In the 2017 assembly election in Gujarat both BJP and RSS will be finished.’

In Bhavnagar, however, campaigning for the BJP, famous Gujarati actor Naresh Kanodia and his actor son Hitu Kanodiya claimed certain victory for the ruling party.

‘Look at the garlands in our necks and the scene here. Is it not enough to show that the BJP will win for sure,’ Naresh said dramatically prodding his son who also repeated the BJP victory words in unison.
