Ahmedabad
Main Opposition Congress today moved to the state election commission (SEC) demanding ban on three advertisements by the ruling BJP during its ongoing campaign for the second and final phase of the local body polls in Gujarat slated to be held on November 29 in 56 municipalities, 31 district and 230 taluka Panchayats.
General Secretary of the party’s state unit and spokesperson Nishit Vyas today said that he has lodged a written complaint with the SEC demanding immediate ban on the ads related to the said financial assistance to the students by the chief minister, similar assistance for business and the CM’s help to the cancer patients.
He claimed that these were repackaging of the schemes of the former UPA government at center and using them in BJP’s poll ads over TV and Radio amounted to luring the voters and falls under the ‘corrupt practices’ clause of the model code of conduct.
