The voice of the jailed Patidar stir leader Hardik Patel and three of his close aides in the sensational telephonic intercept, on the basis of which they have been booked for sedition by the crime branch of Ahmedabad police, has matched with their original voice as per the report of their voice sample test (Spectrography test) by the Forensic Science Lab (FSL), Gandhinagar, ACP of the crime branch Rahul Patel said today.

The ACP said that the FSL spectograhpy report which was handed over to us today was found positive i e the voice sample taken by the lab matched with that in the telephonic intercept.

‘Now it has become a strong evidence against them in the case for production before the court. We are now serving notices to 40 other people identified from the intercept for further interrogation. We may take voice samples of some of them if the need be. We also expect some of them to turn approver and help the police,’ the ACP said.

The voice sample test of Hardik Patel, who is currently lodged in Lajpore central jail in connection with yet another case of sedition for his alleged instigating advice to a youth from his community suggesting him to kill 2 or 5 policemen rather than committing suicide, was done at the FSL on October 28 while he was in the custody of the crime branch of Ahmedabad police.

Voice samples of three of his aides Chirag Patel, Dinesh Patel and Ketan Patel, who are in Sabarmati jail here in connection with the same case was taken by the FSL on October 24.

The case under charges of sedition and waging war against the duly elected government was lodged by the crime branch here on October 21. A total of six leaders of Patidar Anamat Aandolan Samiti (PAAS), including the four jailed ones, were made accused in the case based on their telephonic intercept since the outfit’s pro reservation rally in GMDC ground of Ahmedabad on August 25 following which a state wide violence erupted claiming 10 lives and a large scale damage of government property. The Gujarat High Court, which has reserved its verdict on a plea demanding the quashing of the case, has put an interim stay on the arrest of the remaining two main accused and PAAS leaders Amul Patel and Alpesh Kathiria.
